Aca health care. Look at how many people didn"t obey the law and paid the penalties. Look at how many times it was avoided either legally or illegaly. Look at the challenges to the law and the reclassifications of how it was applied. Finally it wasn't applied equally and voided to many people not paying penalties.
Tax laws. Why does irs go after people for not paying the taxes due? Businesses advertise all the time to get reductions on paying the amount you owe. Others figure your taxes so that you don't owe as much because of loopholes for certain payers. Not fair to everyone. Others avoid taxes in other ways.
Traffic laws. Speeding? Insurance? Lane changes? Stop lights? Licenses? Lawyers fight these laws all of the time.
Since none of the laws are preventing the actions for which they are written. Also, we know people who are crazy are not responsible for their actions. How does a law help with guns with unstable people. Criminals do not obey the laws. They find ways to get guns, or break laws.
Laws only apply to those who wish to do better for the good of others. If the law stops, curtails or harms the intentions of people it is avoided or broken. Applies to others not me.
Has to be some way to get people to care about each other again. Doctors kill more people than guns. When do we ban doctors?
Why is there no laws against the top 9 causes of death in the united states? Heart disease, cancer, unintentional injuries, chronic lower respiratory disease, strokes, alzheimers, diabetes, influenza/pneumonia, kidney disease are the top 9 in that order.
Number 10 is already illegal. But in 2017 it still accounted for 47,173 deaths attributed to it, but not necessarily all. That is suicide, in 2017 CDC stated 38,658 deaths by guns. Of that 2/3 were suicide (illegal) leaving the rest equalling 15,549, which does not account for police or self defence.
Laws guide. They will never prevent. Some people have to find the short comings or ways around laws just for sport.
