Missouri General Assembly 2012

STATE SENATORS
REPUBLICANS 26
DEMOCRATS 8

STATE REPRESENTATIVES
REPUBLICANS 105
DEMOCRATS 57
INDEPENDANTS 1

According to my math this makes 131 Republicans to 65 democrats and one Independent a total of 197 members. That makes the General Assembly approximately 50% stronger in the Republican side of the State Representatives. Why are we having so much problem getting things done that are in the Republican interest, when it comes to the bills we support.

I am fully aware that this is not a Democracy, it is a Republic form of Government, but does not the majority rule when it comes to the numbers?

I'm just a small town country boy that denied himself the education of the Public School System, and have relied on other sources to get the education I have aquired over the years, but Politics is a New and dirty game to me, and I don't have a Program sheet.
